disclaimer

While every effort has been made with the accuracy of colour in the catalogue we strongly advise you to see samples before placing an order. As all our tiles are hand painted and hand sprayed, slight variations will occur between batches of firing, which contributes to the liveliness of our work. Samples should be returned or can be included if an order follows. Sometimes tiles from your order can be exchanged but not returned. Please read all the notes and details in the catalogue before ordering.

    technical information

glazed edges

If any of the areas you are tiling have exposed edges, we can glaze them. Just let us know when you order.

matching samples

Due to the limitations of the printing process it is advisable to order samples. Your order will be produced as a batch especially for you. We always try to match samples sent, however some characteristic variation between samples and subsequent batches is to be expected.

shade variation

Hand decorated tiles have an attractive variation in shade from tile to tile. It is advisable to lay out or mix your batch prior to fixing in order to produce a good blend.

colour reproduction

Every attempt has been made to ensure that colours featured on this site provide an accurate representation of the actual tile. However, an exact match cannot be guaranteed and, indeed, variations are bound to exist screen to screen.

tile sizes

Handmade tiles are subject to minor differences in size, therefore dimensions quoted should be taken as nominal.

installation

We recommend that our tiles are fixed by an experienced tiler. Because of the nature of our glazes, tiles which require cutting are best cut using a circular saw or angle grinder taking all necessary safety precautions. Ranges produced on our flat faced tiles will need to be spaced with tile spacers. It is best to use the thinnest spacers available in order to maximise the impact of your tiles.

We can not accept any responsibility for damage to tiles caused by incorrect installation.

crazed tiles

Glaze crazing is a natural characteristic of many of the tiles we produce. This is quite normal and not an imperfection. Crazed tiles may continue crazing a little over time. Crazed tiles require treating with a silicone sealant if being used in a wet area such as a shower. Please ask for details about sealing compounds.

surface suitability

All of our tiles are suitable for interior wall surfaces. We do not recommend them for use on work surfaces, floors or exteriors. If you would like tiles for these areas we can produce something for you as a special commission. The Bisazza mosaic ranges can be used on floors and work surfaces as well as swimming pools and exteriors.

coloured grouting

We recommend that any strongly coloured tiles are grouted with a complementary tone of grout as white grouting can form a visually dominant grid which will distract from the distinctive colour of your tile scheme. It is wise to test any coloured grouts on a small area first as some dark grouts can stain tiles.
